A new book! Again?

Yes, again!

Hi folks!

I know it’s been a while since I sent you all a newsletter but so much has been happening that I didn’t really think I could fit everything in one newsletter. Also, I’ve just gotten out of the habit of long-form writing and rely mostly on bite-sized information on my social media pages.

But here’s what’s been happening:

  • On May 5, I revealed to the world that I’ve been writing romances under a pseudonym – Inaara Sheikh – for a year now.

  • I’ve published 7 books under this name so far and the 8th one is gearing for release on June 30. It’s called A Heart in Shadows.

  • My new YA novel Have You Met Me is up for pre-order and is releasing on July 2. It’s being published by Harper Collins India, and I cannot wait for you all to dive into it.

  • I’ve been holding creative writing workshops that run for a month – It’s called Idea to Draft and runs for two hours, four Saturdays, a crash course on writing from someone who has written 52 books under her name and now 8 books under a pseudonym. If you’re interested, the July cohort is about to begin next Saturday and I’ll be shutting registrations soon!

  • Based on some of the work I’ve seen by my participants, I am offering a few of them detailed mentorship under my guidance. There are three tiers that have different levels of my involvement and are priced accordingly. If you feel you might benefit from this, email me at andaleeb.w@gmail.com and we can discuss. I’ll want to see what you’re working on before we can move ahead. I’ve already filled a few slots for this, so I might not take any more on, but if this is something you’ve really wanted to do, then please don’t hesitate to reach out!

  • I did my first storytelling session after YEARS at Pustaka Negeri last Saturday and I realised there’s so much more for me to learn. Excited about this new direction of my career and I hope I can get more involved.

Whew. That’s a lot. There’s more to come, Alhamdulillah. Meanwhile, check out this amazing cover that Samya Arif designed for Have you Met Me?

As you can see, this is a book about messy families and secrets being unearthed after someone important dies. I have loads of cousins myself, Alhamdulillah, and I wrote this book because of how important they are to me, apart from my very own siblings.

But I also wrote this book because I’m growing older and I can see how much easier it is to dismiss old people as unidimensional and not having a rich tapestry in their past. I explored this a little in my novel The Sum of All my Parts too, but Have You Met Me? is from the perspective of three teens who always thought that Nani was just Nani.

Wait until they find out what she really is. (Hint: She’s not a secret spy).

Until next time then! Ooh and do check out this cover for Inaara’s new book too.

This was designed by Merril Anil who designs loads of covers for indie authors.

So yes!

Pre-order my book/s! Sign up for my workshop! Or join the mentorship program!

(Pretty sure some of you are going to hit the unsubscribe button now, but it’s okay. I get it. You don’t want a hardsell. I’m trying not to! )

But also, write back to me!

Love

Andaleeb/Inaara
