What has stayed with me from Idea to Draft workshop was 'Decide beforehand who will be the narrator, their background that dictate their actions. Decide it before you put your pen to paper or, in our case, tapping the keys onto Word document.' My professional writing (journalism) fell within limits of story peg, wordcount and so on. When it came to writing my stories, blog posts, I let the words flow, always hoping that the structure, motive and purpose would be found along the way. On some days it did, on some days it did not. With the Idea to Draft workshop, I dug deeper into why I wanted to tell the story, who would tell it and where it would be set it. Thank you Andaleeb for the direction and feedback on the pieces that got written during the four week workshop.
Ambika Idea to Draft is good for beginners & those that may feel lost whilst crafting their manuscript. Its like clearing up the dark clouds that blocked you from moving forward with your story, to think better what’s missing, lacking from it and how you could move forward with better words, not just mere ramblings.
Ika Madera As a pantser, the Idea to Draft workshop is perfect for a writer who is as chaotic as me too. It has helped me improve and navigate my writing process, allowing me to craft with confidence and effectiveness than before.
What I love most about the workshop is that, it was held in a small group so each participant got the opportunity to receive feedback and comments equally.
Andaleeb’s workshop is not something you can simply learn from writing books. You will also gain fresh insights and practical techniques that are utterly valuable and helpful for beginners and authors who aspire to refine their writing.
Nuruljannah Usop The "idea to draft" workshop helped me understand the basic nuances of writing a story. It also made me aware of the fact that just ideas floating in the mind never really culminate into a book unless we provide it a structure and that process is quite tedious. There is a lot of ground work that needs to be done before one starts to eventually write. Andaleeb really puts her focus well on this foundation work and graciously shares her own experience of learning and writing.
Sanjana Rana I did the “Idea to Draft” workshop with Andaleeb and it was the best workshop I ever attended on book writing. I have known her through her books for years and then I also attended a workshop she held earlier on Publishing. She is an expert in writing and explains things in a simple practical manner.
This workshop helped me move from “I have so many ideas, I don’t know what to do” to “Now I know what and how to write”. I was amazed at how she gently she nudged all of us to write on topics that we had not thought about too. A must do workshop for all those who have ideas or who finds stories all around but are not sure how and what to write. This gives so much clarity to aspiring writers. It’s packed with knowledge and yet is so much enjoyable.
Thank you Andaleeb for this wonderful opportunity!
