The Story that Stuck with You

So here’s the thing. I started writing fiction in the year 1999. My first set of short stories were published in 2005. And I became a published author in 2009. That’s sixteen years ago. I hadn’t realised that it’s been this many years. And I hadn’t really considered that I would write so many books.
The reason why I’m making this sort of a big deal is because this is the year my fiftieth book releases.
Yup.
I’ve written fifty books. Alhamdulillah.
Every now and then when I reach any sort of milestone, I go back and start counting. It can’t be thirty books. It can’t be forty. It can’t be forty-five.
It can’t be fifty.
But it is. And I have each one of you, my readers, to thank for this. Writing and publishing books for the past sixteen years has had its ups and downs, and it has been filled with joys and also some tears. I am just grateful that I didn’t stop writing when the going got tough. That I kept my focus and worked on getting the next book out, even when the book that just got published didn’t do as well as I’d expected it to.
So, I thought we could do a little poll of sorts today and I’ve sort of chosen just five (I cheated and used a series as well) but I’d be so thrilled to hear from you if there are other books of mine that you’ve loved as well. Please vote below in any case!

In other news, I’ll be at the Alliance Literary Festival on 13 February at 3.10 p.m. In case you’re at the festival, I’d love to say hello. And that brings an end to the season of literature festivals for me for now at least.
I want to thank everyone who took an effort to meet me, said hello, took selfies with me and got me to sign on their books. Those interactions will always remain special.
