What has stayed with me from Idea to Draft workshop was 'Decide beforehand who will be the narrator, their background that dictate their actions. Decide it before you put your pen to paper or, in our case, tapping the keys onto Word document.' My professional writing (journalism) fell within limits of story peg, wordcount and so on. When it came to writing my stories, blog posts, I let the words flow, always hoping that the structure, motive and purpose would be found along the way. On some days it did, on some days it did not. With the Idea to Draft workshop, I dug deeper into why I wanted to tell the story, who would tell it and where it would be set it. Thank you Andaleeb for the direction and feedback on the pieces that got written during the four week workshop.
