Anniversary Blues

Ok so my 11th wedding anniversary was yesterday. It went pretty lame and I’m not in a mood to talk about why it was not so great. The only thing I decided that next year, inshallah, I’m NOT going to make a big deal out of the anniversary. I’m not even going to remind Mansoor about it. I’m going to spend it like any other ordinary day and if Mansoor wants, he can make a big deal out of it for a change. :(

The only saving grace was that by the end of the day, we resolved our problems and we didn’t have many arguments after that. That’s it for now.

  1. First of all belated HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!and sorry about how it turned out..

    Anyways, just the feeling of remembering anniversary and the sweet memories of the wedding day and union of 2 almost strangers (at least in my case) brings smile to the face.. so that itself is celebrating.. Everything else is just the token of that emotion or feeling.. So don’t worry if the materialistic expression of the feeling was not accomplished.. It happens.. Men are usually not too keen about these things.. even whenever they do, its more for avoiding the headache they may have to go through if they didn’t :)

    So cheer up and buy something nice for yourself.. :) I learnt one lesson in my married life, when the other half don’t shower you with gifts, do it for yourself..and just let them know what they gifted you .. hehehehe

  3. For the last 9yrs, I’ve dealt with Anniversary Blues :( and this year our 10th one is fast-approaching and I’m actually having anxiety pangs abt it already…I honestly do not want to feel the same, or worse…feel more worse so I’m making my own plans.
    Yes Andy, whatever Sanju said is right…most Men can never get it right so they quit trying anyways…so do urself a favor ‘n do something for urself instead and just hand over the bill to your “better” half ;) haa haa!!
